What strikes me about Google Wave is the way it was created: Lars and Jens Rasmussen went off for two years to rethink e-mail from scratch, 40 years after its invention, and looked at it with the knowledge of today’s technological environment. It is both daring and a reminder that great innovation can come in unexpected places.
